Born on a farm in Nebraska in 1949, Tom has been writing poetry since a young age. In spite of that, he has only recently honed his story-telling style that is less rhythm and rhyme than one would expect from poetry. Tom is a recently retired Nebraska teacher and administrator with three degrees from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, including a B.S. in English and an M.Ed. in special education. He writes free verse poetry about aging, travel, summers on his uncle’s farm with his brothers, and snapshots about life in general.
Life With a Twist is Tom’s first book. While some poems are serious, the majority attempt to get the reader to smile about life and the truly humorous situations that occur on a daily basis. Poetry does not have to be the sobering, downright depressing content we recall from high school.
Tom continues to write poetry while traveling and otherwise enjoying retirement.
